Information You Submit
A name, location, or other term entered in a search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Hamilton County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy terms govern its handling of the query.
Messages sent through an available contact method may include a name, email address, and the text supplied by the sender. We retain that information as needed to answer and manage the exchange. It is not shared outside the organization unless service delivery or law requires it.
Technical Data and Cookies
Normal web operation can collect an IP address, browser and version, device type, operating system, pages viewed, time spent, referring site, and timestamps. This data helps measure use and diagnose faults.
Cookies and similar tools may record how visitors use the site. Browser controls can block or remove them, although some site or partner functions may then work differently.
How Information Is Used
Collected information may be used to operate and secure the site, keep pages responsive, route a search to the correct partner, learn which content is useful, diagnose technical problems, answer messages, and display advertising that may reflect interests. We do not use a contact message to create an official custody or court record.
Other Websites and Advertising
Links may lead to sheriff and corrections pages, release-record sources, government portals, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves, the destination's policy controls its collection and use of data. Hamilton County Released Inmates does not control those practices.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. That processing occurs on their systems and is subject to their notices and opt-out methods.
Who May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold. It may be disclosed to a search partner that processes a submitted query, analytics providers that measure use, advertising networks that deliver ads, and vendors needed to operate the service. Information may also be supplied to law enforcement or another government body when a valid legal order requires it.
A public-record request made under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, should be sent to the public body that holds the desired government record. This private site is not an Illinois public body and does not process FOIA requests for Hamilton County, White County, or IDOC.
Security Measures
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect information. No internet service, transmission method, or storage system can be promised as breach-proof. Visitors should avoid sending sensitive data that is not needed for a message.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and verification, a person may ask what personal information is held, request correction, seek deletion, or object to certain processing. Some information may need to be retained for security, legal, or operational reasons. Cookie choices can also be managed through browser settings and provider controls.
Changes to This Notice
This Privacy Notice may be revised as services or legal requirements change. A new version takes effect when posted here with its applicable effective date. Continued use after posting is governed by the revised notice.
